Frontend Developer (m/f/d)

Fernwald
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

  • Front-end development: You will develop modern, high-performance and user-friendly web applications for demanding applications in the emergency services sector.
  • Feature ownership: Working alongside product management, UX and backend teams, you’ll oversee features from the requirements stage through to technical design and into live operation.
  • Focus on usability: You will develop intuitive user interfaces that function reliably even under time pressure and provide optimal support for users.
  • Interfaces & real-time data: You’ll integrate REST interfaces, WebSockets and MQTT, ensuring reliable data transmission – even with unstable connections.
  • Components & architecture: You’ll develop reusable UI components, help shape our design system and actively contribute to the further development of architecture, libraries and tools.
  • Quality & Further Development: Through testing, code reviews, clear documentation and modern development tools – including AI – you ensure stable, high-performing and maintainable software.
  • Agile Collaboration: You’ll work in a cross-functional Scrum team, contribute your ideas and continuously develop our products together with colleagues and users.
  • Back-end support: Where required, you’ll also provide support for back-end-related components using Node.js or Python.

Skills

    • Professional experience: You have at least three years’ practical experience in professional front-end development and have ideally supported applications across multiple releases.
    • Technical expertise: Excellent knowledge of TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS/SCSS, as well as experience with modern front-end frameworks, are part of your toolkit.
    • Understanding of architecture: You develop component-based applications, think in terms of clean software architectures and make technical decisions with foresight.
    • Commitment to quality: Automated testing, Git, code reviews and CI/CD are, for you, an integral part of professional software development.
    • Working style: You work in a structured, independent and solution-oriented manner, and actively contribute your ideas to the team.
    • Usability: You develop applications from the user’s perspective and place great importance on intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
    • Willingness to learn: You enjoy familiarising yourself with new technologies and specialist topics, and take responsibility for the quality of your solutions.
    • Qualifications: A degree, vocational training in IT or a comparable qualification is welcome – for us, your practical experience is more important than your qualification.
    • Language skills: Very good German and good English skills round off your profile.
  • Ideally, you’ll also have experience with
    • Svelte, Angular or similar front-end frameworks
    • component libraries and design systems (e.g. Storybook)
    • Nx, monorepos or Vite
    • Test automation and CI/CD
    • MQTT, WebSockets or REST interfaces
    • Node.js or Python
    • Applications in the healthcare sector or other regulated sectors
  • Don’t tick all the boxes? Apply anyway – we’re interested in what you can do and what you’d like to learn, not whether you’ve ticked off every item on a list.
